Walter Homolka

Walter Homolka (born 1964) is a rabbi and scholar of Jewish religious philosophy. He studied, among other institutions, at Leo Baeck College and King’s College London. Homolka served as State Rabbi of Lower Saxony and held a professorship in modern Jewish religious philosophy at the University of Potsdam. In 2002, he became rector of the Abraham Geiger College, described in the source as the first rabbinical seminary established in Germany since the Holocaust. He also served as Managing Director of the School of Jewish Theology at the University of Potsdam and as a member of the Executive Board of the World Union for Progressive Judaism.
