Vince Aletti worked as a writer, curator, and critic. From 1994 to 2005, he served as art editor of the Village Voice and was also a photography critic for The New Yorker. In 2005, he received the ICP Infinity Award for Writing. His book Male (2008) presents images from his personal collection.
