Victor Chu

Born in Shanghai in 1946, Victor Chu studied medicine and psychology and worked as a physician and psychotherapist. He was employed at the Free Clinic Heidelberg, the Heidelberg University Hospital’s psychosomatic clinic, and the Gütersloh State Psychiatric Hospital. From 1977 to 1991, he trained therapists at the Institute for Integrative Gestalt Therapy in Würzburg; he subsequently served as a trainer at the Gestalt Institute Heidelberg. From 1986 to 1991, he was the first chair of the founding board of the German Association for Gestalt Therapy. Chu published, among other works, “Psychotherapie nach Tschernobyl” (1987), “Lebenslügen und Familiengeheimnisse” (2014), “Vaterliebe” (2016), and “Briefe an einen jungen Therapeuten” (2021). He also worked as a Tai Chi teacher.
