Ursula Wulfekamp was born in 1955 in Salisbury, England, and grew up in England and Germany. She studied English and German literature at the universities of Regensburg and Tübingen. She worked as an editor, journalist and copy editor in London and Munich and spent more than three decades as a translator. Her translations include English-language fiction as well as books on art and cultural history. Among the authors whose works she translated are Elizabeth Jane Howard, Tracy Chevalier, Agatha Christie, Maeve Binchy, Annie Leibovitz and Joanne Harris.
