Tracy Chevalier

Tracy Chevalier (born 1962 in Washington, D.C.) is an American novelist. Before becoming a writer, she worked as an editor. She achieved international recognition with her novel *Girl with a Pearl Earring*, which sold more than five million copies, was translated into 45 languages, and was adapted as a film, play, and opera. Chevalier has published several historical novels.
