Thomas Ballhausen, born in Vienna in 1975, is an author and scholar of literature and cultural studies. He studied Comparative Literature and German in Vienna and has worked as a lecturer, speaker, editor, and curator. His scholarly work includes publications on media history, archival theory, and artistic research. As a writer, he has published poetry, prose, and essays, including Lob der Brandstifterin (2013), In dunklen Gegenden (2014), Signaturen der Erinnerung (2015), Gespenstersprache (2016), Mit verstellter Stimme (2017), Das Mädchen Parzival (2019), and Transient (2020). His literary work has received several awards, including the Reinhard Priessnitz Prize.
