Cory Doctorow

Cory Doctorow, born in Toronto in 1971, is a Canadian-British writer, journalist and blogger. He became known in part through the technology and science-fiction blog Boing Boing, which he co-edited from 2001, and through his advocacy of digital freedom and more liberal copyright rules. He is the author of novels including Little Brother (2008) and Makers (2009), which he published under a Creative Commons licence. In 2000, Doctorow received the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer; in 2020, he was inducted into the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame.
