Sunjeev Sahota

Sunjeev Sahota (born 1981) is a British writer. His novels include Ours are the Streets (2011), The Year of the Runaways (2015) and The Porcelain Room. The Year of the Runaways was shortlisted for the 2015 Man Booker Prize and received the European Union Prize for Literature in 2017. Sahota’s paternal family originated in Punjab; his grandparents migrated to Britain in 1966. The Porcelain Room is loosely based on his own family history.
