Sun Zi

Sun Zi, also known as Sun Tzu or Sunzi, was a Chinese general, military strategist, and philosopher. He is traditionally dated to around 544–496 BCE and is regarded as the author of *The Art of War*, one of the oldest known works on military strategy. The book emphasizes resolving conflicts without open combat where possible, using deception, espionage, mobility, and adaptation to an opponent’s strategy. Its ideas were later applied more broadly to conflict resolution and business strategy.
