Solvejg Nitzke (born 1985, Dr. phil.) is a scholar of literary and cultural studies with a habilitation. Her research has addressed ecology and the production of knowledge, precarious natures in nineteenth-century popular literature, climate and catastrophes, science fiction, and the representation of plants and trees in literature and culture. From 2021 to 2023, she led the Fritz Thyssen Foundation-funded project “Fremde Verwandtschaft. Eine Kulturpoetik der Bäume,” which examined cultural relationships between humans and trees. Her publications include Farne. Ein Portrait (2024) and the co-edited volumes Paradigmen des Idyllischen and Baum und Text.
