Simone Schroth

Simone Schroth (born 1974) earned a doctorate in Comparative Literature in Bonn. She also studied modern German literature, modern English studies and German as a foreign language. As a translator, she translated works from English and Dutch into German and from German into English. Her areas of focus include autobiographical writing, fiction, crime novels and thrillers; her translations include works by Anne Frank, Etty Hillesum, Lisa Gray and Charles den Tex. In 2023, she and a colleague received the Else Otten Translation Prize. Her doctoral dissertation compared German, English and French translations of Anne Frank’s diaries.
