Silke Kleemann

Silke Kleemann, born in Cologne in 1976, studied applied linguistics and cultural studies in Mainz and Germersheim. She began working as a literary translator, editor and author in 2000. Her translations from Spanish include novels, poetry, and children’s and young adult literature by authors such as Juan Filloy, Ariel Magnus, Marina Perezagua and Katixa Agirre. In 2015, she received the Bavarian Arts Promotion Award for Literature for her translations of Ariel Magnus. Her other distinctions include a literary fellowship from the City of Munich and a working grant from the Free State of Bavaria for literary translators.
