Shichiro Fukazawa

Shichirō Fukazawa (1914–1987) was a Japanese writer and musician. Born in Isawa, Japan, he learned classical guitar at an early age and worked as a guitarist at the Nichigeki Theatre in Tokyo. After returning to his hometown, he began writing. He became known for the novella *The Songs of Narayama* (1956), which received the Chūō-kōron Newcomer Prize. Fukazawa died in Shōbu in 1987.
