Sabine Herting was born in Essen and studied in Lausanne and Bonn. She is a literary translator from French and English who has translated works by Salman Rushdie, Kazuo Ishiguro, Jamaica Kincaid, Elizabeth Fremantle, Nikki Marmery, Olivier Rolin and François-Henri Désérable into German. Herting co-founded and co-edited two literary journals, served on the advisory board of Villa Waldberta, was a jury member for the Bienek Prize and served on the advisory board of the Lyrik Kabinett.
