Rolf Schwarz

Rolf Schwarz (Dr., Dipl.-Päd.) was a professor of early childhood movement and play development, as well as its assessment and intervention, at the Karlsruhe University of Education. His research focused on the evaluation and quality development of movement-oriented settings, movement-promoting childcare centers and schools, and the design of spaces for play and physical activity. As an empirical-analytical playground researcher, he worked particularly on the planning and evaluation of playgrounds, childcare outdoor areas, schoolyards, and local open spaces based on evidence-based quality criteria.
