Renate Zimmer

Renate Zimmer is an educational scientist specializing in early childhood and was a professor of sports science at the University of Osnabrück. She also directed the Lower Saxony Institute for Early Childhood Education and Development (nifbe). She wrote numerous books on physical education and language development and developed a concept linking reading, language, and movement, which was tested in kindergartens. For her commitment to education policy, she was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
