Roberto Saviano

Roberto Saviano, born in Naples in 1979, studied philosophy and subsequently worked as a journalist. The Italian author became known for »Gomorrah« (2006), a documentary study of the Neapolitan Camorra that became an international bestseller and was adapted for film. His other works include »ZeroZeroZero«, »The Children’s Train« and »Falcone«. For his journalistic work addressing organized crime and corruption, Saviano received, among other honors, the Geschwister-Scholl Prize in 2009 and the Olof Palme Prize in 2012; he was also awarded the M100 Media Award in 2016.
