Robert E Howard

Robert Ervin Howard (1906–1936) was an American writer. He primarily wrote fantasy, adventure and horror stories, as well as Westerns and historical fiction for American pulp magazines. He became internationally known for his stories about Conan the Barbarian; other notable characters include Kull of Atlantis, Solomon Kane and Bran Mak Morn. Howard is regarded as a formative figure and an early founder of sword-and-sorcery and a prominent representative of low fantasy.
