Rein Raud

Rein Raud was born in Tallinn in 1961 to two writer parents. He studied Japanese studies at the University of Leningrad and taught as a professor in Tampere, Helsinki, and Tallinn. He also worked at universities around the world, including the Free University of Berlin. In addition to scholarly books and literary criticism, he published numerous novels, many of which received awards.
