Rebecca Godfrey

Rebecca Godfrey (1967–2022) was a Canadian novelist and journalist. Her novel *The Torn Skirt* was a finalist for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize. She was also known for the award-winning true-crime book *Under the Bridge*, which inspired a Hulu series. Godfrey taught creative writing at Columbia University. Her final novel, *Peggy*, was written up to the time of her death and completed by her friend, the author Leslie Jamison, using Godfrey’s notes.
