Raphael Gross

Raphael Gross is a German historian. He received his doctorate from the University of Essen in 1997 with a dissertation on Carl Schmitt and the Jews. From 2006 to 2015, he directed the Jewish Museum Frankfurt, and from 2007 to 2015 he also led the Fritz Bauer Institute. From 2015 to 2017, he was director of the Simon Dubnow Institute for Jewish History and Culture in Leipzig, where he also held a chair in Jewish history. From 2017 onward, Gross served as president of the Deutsches Historisches Museum Foundation. His publications include Anständig geblieben. Nationalsozialistische Moral and November 1938.
