Ralf Thenior, born in 1945 in Bad Kudowa (now Kudowa-Zdrój) in Silesia, initially studied translation at the Saarland University Institute of Interpreting and later German studies at the University of Hamburg. From 1969 onward, he published poetry, short stories, novels, essays, and books for children and young adults in newspapers, journals, and anthologies. He also worked freelance in broadcasting for many years, including for SR, SDR, and NDR. Thenior was a member of the P.E.N. Club from 2008 and received numerous prizes and awards. His publications include “Lesebuch Ralf Thenior” (2021), “Die Schönheiten von Pyrmont” (2021), “MMXXI Zweizeiler” (2022), and “Der Schrei der Pflanzen” (2023).
