Raif Muhammad Badawi (born 1984) is a Saudi intellectual and internet activist. In 2008, he founded the online forum “Saudi Liberals,” which focused on politics and religion in Saudi Arabia and was shut down by the state. Badawi was imprisoned in 2012 and publicly flogged in Jeddah in 2015.
