Philip Ursprung

Philip Ursprung is an art and architectural historian. He studied art history, general history and German studies in Geneva, Vienna and Berlin, earned his doctorate at Freie Universität Berlin and completed his habilitation at ETH Zurich in 1999. His academic career included teaching at the universities of Geneva, Basel and Zurich, ETH Zurich, Berlin-Weißensee School of Art, Berlin University of the Arts and Columbia University in New York. In 2023, he was co-curator of the Swiss Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. His publications include *Contemporary Art* and *Joseph Beuys*.
