Wolfgang Pehnt (born 1931) is a German architectural historian and critic. He published extensively on the history of modern architecture and wrote monographs on architects including Gottfried Böhm, Rudolf Schwarz, and Karljosef Schattner. His best-known works include “Die Architektur des Expressionismus” and “Deutsche Architektur seit 1900,” both regarded as standard works. Pehnt also contributed to Propyläen’s history of art and to specialist journals, exhibition catalogues, newspapers, and broadcasting organizations. His awards included the Critics’ Prize of the Association of German Architects, the Erich Schelling Prize for Architectural Theory, and the Fritz Schumacher Prize.
