Petrus Akkordeon was born in 1971 in West Berlin. After studying philosophy, psychology and religious studies at Freie Universität Berlin, he studied art under F. W. Bernstein at Berlin’s Hochschule der Künste, now the Universität der Künste. He worked as an artist, illustrator and poet, contributing to more than fifty books with his own texts and illustrations and illustrating works by other authors. His publications include, among others, the novel “taubengeschichte, eine” (2021), “Elefantenhaut” and “fünf manifeste zur befreiung der grashalme”. His work was presented in solo and group exhibitions. A recurring subject of his work is the relationship between animals and humans. He also explored unusual forms of bringing poetry to audiences, including readings in telephone booths that could be called.
