Peter Schuster

Peter Schuster was born in Detmold in 1957. He studied history, mathematics and business administration in Bielefeld. He earned his doctorate with a study of urban brothels in Germany from 1350 to 1600 and completed his habilitation with research on law and everyday life in late-medieval Constance. Schuster was a professor of medieval history at Bielefeld University. His research focused on urban history, the history of crime, constitutional history and the formation of dynasties among the nobility.
