Peter May (born in Glasgow in 1951) began his career as a journalist and received the Scottish Young Journalist of the Year Award in 1972. He published his first novel at the age of 26. He later worked as a television screenwriter in Britain before turning to novel writing full-time in 1996. His work includes several crime series and standalone novels, notably the award-winning series featuring Fin Macleod. May has published more than 30 books, which have been sold in numerous countries.
