Peter-Andre Alt

Peter-André Alt (born 1960) is a literary scholar and professor of modern German literature at Freie Universität Berlin. He previously taught at Ruhr University Bochum (1995–2002) and the University of Würzburg (2002–2005). From 2010 to 2018, he served as president of Freie Universität Berlin. His publications include a two-volume biography of Friedrich Schiller, Kafka und der Film (2009), Ästhetik des Bösen (2011), and Sigmund Freud. Der Arzt der Moderne (2016). In 2005, he received the Marbach Schiller Prize for his Schiller biography.
