Percival Everett

Percival Everett, born in 1956 in Fort Gordon, Georgia, is an American writer and professor of English at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He has published numerous novels, short-story collections, and poetry books. His notable novels include Erasure, The Trees, and James. Erasure was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, while The Trees was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. James received the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Everett’s other honors include the PEN Center USA Award for Fiction, the Literature Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Windham Campbell Prize, and the PEN/Jean Stein Book Award.
