Olivia Wenzel, born in Weimar in 1985, studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice at the University of Hildesheim. She writes plays and prose. Her plays have been performed, among other places, at the Münchner Kammerspiele, Hamburg’s Thalia Theater, the Deutsches Theater Berlin and Ballhaus Naunynstraße. As a performer, she collaborated with collectives such as vorschlag:hammer in the independent theater scene. Her debut novel, *1000 Serpentinen Angst*, was her first novel. Wenzel received the Literature Prize of the City of Fulda (2020), the Mörike Förderpreis of the City of Fellbach (2021) and the Hugo Ball Förderpreis (2023).
