Nicolai von Schweder-Schreiner

Nicolai von Schweder-Schreiner, born in Lisbon in 1967, is a translator from Portuguese and English into German. Authors whose work he has translated include José Saramago, Daniel Galera, Leonard Cohen, Douglas Coupland, and John Waters. His translation work received the International Literature Prize of the HKW in 2020 and the Hamburg Literature Prize for Literary Translation in 2025. He has also worked as a composer and musician with the group Veranda Music.
