Michelle Harrison, born in 1979 in Grays, Essex, is an English author. She studied illustration in Staffordshire and has worked as a bookseller, gallery supervisor and waitress, among other roles. She is known for the Elfenseele trilogy for young readers; the first volume, Hinter dem Augenblick, was inspired by a childhood memory of exploring a nearby woodland and its caves. During her school years, Harrison received several art prizes and a literature award.
