Mareike Weber studied literature and publishing in Bamberg, Edinburgh and Stirling. She worked for publishers in Germany and the United Kingdom, assessing, selling rights to and translating books. A particular focus of her work was literature for young readers, and she translated English-language children’s and young adult books into German. For many years, she also managed MICHELIN Green Guides and other travel titles at GU. Weber worked as a translator, editor, copy editor, proofreader and project manager.
