Michael Holtschulte

Michael Holtschulte (born 1979) is a German cartoonist and illustrator. He studied German, political science and social psychology. His cartoons and illustrations have appeared in publications including Süddeutsche Zeitung, WAZ, Eulenspiegel, Deadline, Return and Trailer. He has also published numerous books and worked for advertising agencies as well as children’s, educational and game publishers. In 2012 he received the Audience Award of the German Prize for Political Caricature, followed in 2014 by the Audience Award of the German Cartoon Prize. In 2022, he was awarded the Bürgerpreis of the city of Herten for his cultural engagement. Together with Oli Hilbring, he also created the podcast “Zwei Stricher packen aus” about cartooning.
