Max Urlacher (born 1971 in Berlin) studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich and economic philosophy at City University London. As an actor, he worked at theatres including Schauspielhaus Zürich, Schauspielhaus Bochum and Schauspielhaus Hamburg, as well as at the Salzburg Festival and Theater an der Wien, and appeared in film and television productions. He also worked as a documentary filmmaker, author and narrator. He wrote novels and radio plays; in 2013, he received the German Children’s Audio Drama Award for his radio play »Märchentherapie«. His debut novel, »Rückenwind«, was adapted for the stage and premiered at the Nibelungen Festival in Worms in 2019, with Urlacher in the leading role.
