Martin Maria Schwarz was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1963. He studied German, Romance languages and art history in Mainz, Bordeaux and Marburg, and trained as a voice actor at the German Blind Audiobook Library in Marburg. From 1996 onward, he worked as an author, editor, presenter and voice actor in the cultural department of Hessischer Rundfunk. He contributed his voice to audio productions including Heinrich Harrer’s “Seven Years in Tibet,” Frank McCourt’s “In einem rundherum tollen Land,” and numerous audio dramas based on Agatha Christie’s detective stories. He was also known as a football enthusiast and supporter of Kickers Offenbach.
