Martin Jay

Martin Evan Jay was born in New York in 1944. He studied at the London School of Economics and received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1971 with a dissertation on the Frankfurt School. He later taught as a professor of history at the University of California, Berkeley. His academic focus was modern European intellectual history.
