Martin Haidinger

Martin Haidinger (born 1969 in Vienna) is a historian and journalist. He studied history at the University of Vienna and, from 1990 onward, worked as a journalist and science editor for ORF, Deutschlandfunk and print media. In 2010, he received the Austrian State Prize for Science Journalism. In addition to writing, he also worked as a cabaret performer, lecturer and public speaker. His nonfiction books include “From the Guillotine to the Lethal Injection: The History of the Death Penalty,” “Franz Joseph’s Land: A Short History of Austria,” and “Wilhelm Höttl: Spy for Hitler and the United States.”
