Martin Engelmann

Martin Engelmann is a photographer, filmmaker and author specializing in travel photography. His photographs have been published in DER SPIEGEL, DIE ZEIT and GEO, among other publications. He produced live reports on journeys through Central America, Southeast Asia and Europe, as well as the 2017 report and documentary “The Last Maya,” made in collaboration with filmmaker Katja Döhne. From 2003 onward, Engelmann published the photography calendar “GAIA,” whose proceeds supported social projects worldwide; by 2017, it had generated more than €200,000. The calendar project received the Gregor International Calendar Award in 2016 and 2017. Engelmann also taught photography and presentation at the University of Klagenfurt and led photography workshops.
