Markus Bernhardt

Markus Bernhardt studied and completed his doctorate in Giessen before spending eleven years in school education. From 2008 to 2011, he taught as a professor of modern history and history education at the University of Education in Freiburg. In 2011, he took up a professorship in history education at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Bernhardt is the author and editor of numerous publications on history education and served as co-editor of the journal Geschichte lernen. He also served as secretary of the Conference for History Education.
