Mark Buckingham, born in 1966, is an English comic artist who first worked as an animator and illustrated magazine articles, including pieces by Neil Gaiman and Kim Newman. In the late 1980s, he made his U.S. debut as an inker and soon afterward as an artist on the horror series Hellblazer. He went on to draw Miracleman, several chapters of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, and the Death spin-offs. His other work includes Batman: No Man’s Land, Shade, the Changing Man, Justice League Dark, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Doctor Strange, and Peter Parker: Spider-Man. As writer and artist, he also worked on Fairest, Dead Boy Detectives, and the comic adaptations in Neil Gaiman’s Likely Stories. Buckingham received an Eisner Award.
