Marius Hulpe was born in Soest in 1982. He studied creative writing as well as cultural and theatre studies in Hildesheim, Berlin, Leipzig and Zurich. He worked as an author, editor and publisher, as a research editor at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, and as a lecturer at the University of Hildesheim. His debut poetry collection, Wiederbelebung der Lämmer (2008), received, among other distinctions, the Literature Promotion Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia and an LCB scholarship from the Berlin Senate. His other publications include the poetry collections Einmal werden wir (2013), Süße elektrische Nacht (2014) and Monument für die Verlassenen (2022), the essay Der Polen-Komplex (2016), and the novel Wilde grüne Stadt (2019).
