Mario Basler (born in 1968 in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany) is a former German professional footballer and coach, as well as a television pundit and entertainer. He played for clubs including 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Hertha BSC, Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich. With his clubs and the German national team, he won the European Championship, several German league titles and domestic cups; he was also the Bundesliga’s top scorer. His autobiography, *Eigentlich bin ich ein Supertyp*, became a Spiegel bestseller.
