Mara Pfeiffer

Mara Pfeiffer (born 1978) is a freelance journalist and author. Her journalistic and literary work focuses on the relationship between sport and society, particularly football, representation, women in football and LGBTQIA+ rights. She covered 1. FSV Mainz 05 for many years. In 2013, she co-wrote the book “111 Gründe, Mainz 05 zu lieben” with sports historian Christian Karn. Together with Alexandra Popp, she wrote the SPIEGEL bestseller “Dann zeige ich es euch eben auf dem Platz.” Pfeiffer was part of the team behind the podcast “FRÜF – Frauen reden über Fußball,” which received the Goldener Blogger award. In the 2021 Journalist of the Year awards, she placed third in the sports category.
