Maisha M. Auma

Maureen Maisha Auma (born 1973) is an educational scientist and gender studies scholar. From 2008 to 2022, she was Professor of Childhood and Difference (Diversity Studies) at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. Between 2014 and 2019, she was a visiting professor at the Centre for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin. Auma has also been involved in Generation Adefra, a Black feminist self-organisation for Black women in Germany, and participated in a Berlin consultation process on discrimination and the social resilience of people of African descent.
