Luz

Luz, whose real name is Rénald Luzier, was born in Tours in 1972. From 1992 onward, he worked as a staff member and cartoonist for the satirical newspaper “Charlie Hebdo,” for which he published numerous comics. After the attack on the newspaper’s offices in January 2015, he briefly served as interim editor-in-chief. His drawing for the first issue published after the attack featured the words “Tout est pardonné” (“All is forgiven”). Luz left “Charlie Hebdo” later that year. In his autobiographical graphic work “Katharsis,” he addressed the period following the attack.
