Leo Timmers

Born in Belgium in 1970, Leo Timmers is an illustrator and author of picture books. He studied advertising and graphic design and worked for Belgian newspapers and on book covers before writing and illustrating his own picture books. His first self-authored picture book, “Blij met mij” (“Happy with Me”), received the Boekenpluim award in Belgium. His books have since received numerous further distinctions, including the Bookfeather Award for the most promising picture-book debut and the Children’s and Youth Award, as well as awards for “Gust the Mechanic,” “A House for Harry,” and “Krah!”. His books have been published in more than 25 languages. Timmers also created the animated television series “Zacki und die Zoobande”.
