Laure Adler

Laure Adler, born in Caen in 1950, is a French journalist, historian and author. She studied philosophy and history and completed a doctorate on 19th-century feminists. During the 1990s, she served as a cultural adviser to President François Mitterrand and hosted the French television programme »Le Cercle de minuit«, a cultural and interview show. From 1999 to 2005, she headed the radio station France Culture; she later became a publishing director at Éditions du Seuil. Adler has published numerous books, including a biography of Marguerite Duras, which won the 1998 Prix Femina de l’essai.
