Klaus Vieweg

Klaus Vieweg, born in 1953 in Steinach, Thuringia, studied philosophy at Friedrich Schiller University Jena and Humboldt University of Berlin in the 1970s. His academic career included a professorship in philosophy and classical German philosophy at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. His publications include The Thought of Freedom (2012), Giuoco piano: Hegel’s Italian Journey (2017), and the biography Hegel: The Philosopher of Freedom (2019). A central focus of his work is Hegel’s philosophy, particularly its conception of freedom.
